You and the Job market

At one time, a high school education was enough to get you a decent job. Not today. The job market globe is revolving fast and by 2014, more than 70% of all new jobs even entry –level positions will need some post secondary education or skill training.

It doesn’t matter where your talent lies or what line of work attracts you. Whether you want to be a computer technician or a restaurant chef, a city planner or a mechanics, a child care worker or an accountant the best move to make is to get a higher education. Investing in your education is one of the smartest moves you’ll ever make. People with more education earn better incomes, enjoy their jobs well and have better opportunities throughout their lives
Sadly, one of the biggest inhibiting factors that continue to derail our opportunity to find jobs is the absence of education programmes that cater to the current needs of the society. It is critically important for academic institutions to offer more flexible undergraduate and postgraduate programmes that satisfy the evolving needs of the job market.

Stakeholders need to invest in research to identify specific professions that are my demand. This will help develop academic programmes that are in tune with the changing economic situations.
Today a lot of people believe that it is ‘whom you know’ that can guarantee you a job .To some extent I will agree but in the general sense the reality still holds that it is ‘the survival of the fittest’ What do I mean ?
Certainly, during tough times it is the fittest and the level of fitness that one can increase. These are the times of multi –skilling .. This is when companies are looking for the person who can perform multiple tasks to one who is limited just one task.

It is important to explore new doors for new opportunities in various fields. It will help you find avenues to pursue your likes. It will enable you venture into new fields and explore new areas. In the end you will realize your dreams and goal in being a multi- task/multi-skill graduate. It will interest an employer to know that apart from being an Electrical Engineer you are capable of handling some aspect of finance and admin duties.

In conclusion I will say that the fundamental purpose of education is to create good environment for you in the your search for the right job. It is also vital to the healthy growth and development of one’s personality.

A writer once said. "In making the ‘beings’ ‘human,’ to produce ‘human beings’, lies the importance of education".

WHO AM I

People often ask .who am I, Are you Married? Are you a rich man? this is my answer to all.
Simply my name is Ato Amissah- Koomson .I am nobody . Really I have nothing, absolutely nothing.
But I am working on it. I am looking forward to a day when my assets will fill about half an A-4 sheet.
I am not very educated even though I have completed the university, my English teacher died in class two and my Mathematics teacher died in class four. Fortunately, I was smart to pick the basics so I can read and write, add and subtract I can even recite the times table “by heart”.
My mum is a retired bofrote seller and my father was the chief of staff in the sagranti war in 1982.He is now an expert in making shoes at the Madina market (shoe maker)
I am not the only child. I have brothers and sisters in Christ. Currently, I am self employed .I import and export ‘kelewele’, ‘krachi awiesu’ and ‘bamfobisi’ from Accra to Sekunde and Esikado.
As a child I had big dreams of becoming a doctor or a pilot but all didn’t materialize as external factors eroded my vision. However I am trying to find solace in the profession I am into.
I have a new dream

My new dream is to become the chief security officer to the president of Ghana’s daughter.I don’t know how and I don’t mind how .I don’t also mind if it is Atta or Kuffour but I would have preferred Rawlings .(laugh)
Incase this dream too fails, I will love to become a pastor, open my own church and call it the Lukukdu Temple .. where I will become the general oversea .. My name will be called (Rev. Flt Lt. Dr. Amissah- Koomson)
I am married .Don’t ask me who ?

How to live a good and happy life

People's perceptions on how to live a happy life vary greatly. Many think that the accumulation of lots of wealth, the fanciest car and luxurious mansion is the pinnacle of achievement, and that being surrounded in that environment automatically equates to happiness.

Often the need to fill your life with expensive material things, comes because there is a hole in your happiness which you don't know how to fill. It is often easier to chase material things than to look and scrutinize what really is happening in your life.

Fulfilment and knowing how to live a happy life can be achieved through small steps which bring a sense of completion to your life. Being appreciative and grateful for all that you have.

Start each day with reminding yourself exactly what is in your life that moment and what you are grateful for. This can be anything, from feeling grateful the sun streaming through your window, grateful that your feet are strong enough to stand on, or feeling grateful for the clean water to brush your teeth.

Accept where you are at in your life and that things may not be perfect. It will be better than facing constant struggles and dreading waking up the next morning.

A tool for Excitement

Women's breasts have three levels of significance: they can feed a baby; they can give erotic pleasure; and they play a large part in shaping a woman's self-image.
In response to sexual stimulation, a woman's breasts may undergo changes. Her nipples typically become erect during sexual excitement. As excitement proceeds, the areolae begin to swell, continuing to the point where the earlier nipple erection may look less pronounced. The veins in the breast often become more visible as a result of the increased blood flowing into them, and, in women who have not breast-fed, there may also be a small increase in breast size.
Often it is the woman's male partner who derives more pleasure out of fondling her breasts, and she may participate mainly because she knows her lover enjoys it. Furthermore, the women who do become sexually aroused when their breasts are touched do so regardless of their breast size.

The Male Reproductive System

The testes are the male primary sex organs, or gonads. They are suspended outside the body in a scrotal sac, where the slightly cooler temperature is essential for allowing spermatogenesis, or the synthesis of sperm, to occur. In addition to sperm production, which occurs in the seminiferous tubules, the testes are also the site of sex hormone synthesis.

Once the sperm leave the testes, they pass through a series of ducts. In sequential order these are the epididymis, the ductus deferens and the urethra. It takes about 20 days for the sperm to pass through the epididymis, and during this time the cells mature and develop the ability to swim. During ejaculation, the thick muscular walls of the ductus deferens contract to propel sperm from their storage site in the epididymis into the urethra. The urethra is the last part of the male duct system. It runs through the penis to convey both urine and semen to the outside of the body.

The penis has two principal functions; as a conduit for both sperm and urine, it acts as both the organ of copulation in the reproductive system and as an excretory organ in the urinary system.

The accessory glands of the male reproductive system include the paired seminal vesicles, the prostate gland, and the paired bulbourethral glands. The seminal vesicles secrete a yellow, viscous, sperm-activating fluid, which accounts for about 60% of the volume of the semen. The duct of the seminal vesicle fuses with the ductus deferens to produce an ejaculatory duct, where sperm and seminal fluid mix. The prostate gland surrounds the urethra as it exits the bladder. It contains 20-30 branched tubuloalveolar glands, which secrete their contents, a citrate and enzyme rich fluid, which makes up about a third of the semen volume, via excretory ducts into the prostatic urethra. The bulbourethral glands, also called Cowper’s glands, synthesise clear, thick mucus, which drains into the spongy urethra, lubricating it and neutralising any traces of acidic urine.

The Decision we make for Love

I have proven so many times that one of the most conclusive ways in putting a relationship to the test is to introduce a third party. This party would always come into the picture and try to disturb the balance of a seemingly healthy relationship. This has a two edged sword that may either destroy or make a stronger relationship. The new one may have stole the scene from the old one but just because he treats you well now doesn't mean that he's the man who would truly make you happy.

You really are in a tough situation. What makes you confused is the fact that you still love the old one. Had this feeling been gone already, you would have found it easier to fall for the new one. But, it is still there and you have to be very careful in making a choice.

Remember, you also started your relationship with the old one just like in a fairy tale. But, the success of a relationship lies not only in the beauty of it's beginning but in it's consistency. We all change and sometimes we change to destroy the very relationships that we are trying to hold dearly in our hearts.

My dear don't rush yourself into making a choice. You are not buying a grocery item that you can just return when you're dissatisfied. You are getting into a new relationship when you have just barely gotten out of the old one. Unless you are absolutely sure that you are over and willing to end up with the old one, then, do not commit yourself to anyone for you know it will be unfair to both you and that person.

Give them both the chance to prove their worth and give yourself a little more time to think. When you are finally able to stand on your own without looking back then that's the time to choose. Make a choice not on impulse but a decision based on a healthy balance of mind and heart.

let us always remember that happiness is not a matter of destiny but a matter of choice.

Dog Meato

Dog meat is eaten in some countries and certain breeds of dogs are raised on farms and slaughtered for their meat. Dog meat may be consumed as an alternative source of meat or for specific medicinal benefits attributed to various parts of a dog. In parts of the world where dogs are kept as pets, people generally consider the use of dogs for food to be a social taboo.

In Ghana, the rising appetite in this delicacy has become a major subject.I sometimes wonder why the generation of this appetite is rising in this modern era.

Although cultural attitudes, legalities, and history regarding eating dog meat varies from country to country. Very little statistical information is available on attitudes to the consumption of the meat.

Though the consumption of dog meat is generally viewed as taboo in Western culture, some Westerners support the right to eat dog meat and accuse other Westerners who protest against dog eating in other countries of cultural imperialism and intolerance

According to the investigations I discreetly conducted around the county last few weeks,

My studies further revealed that the delicacy, which a few decades ago, was not popular in typical urban centers in Ghana in the South, has today gained wide acceptance among the nation’s over 20 million people, particularly the productive youthful population, including our unemployed youth, fishermen and land guards in indigenous Accra.

Whether smoked, roasted or sauced, it is taken usually with gari or hot kenkey over tots of local gin (akpeteshie), keba shoo, alomo gin bitters, ginseng liquor, mandingo, rosso rosso and other alcoholic beverages mixed for addictive purposes

Unfortunately,I wish for a sort of flu for this meat.Where are the scientist, please come to our rescue.Don't you have Dogmeato Flu of a kind?

please be quick

I remain

Aponkye the Goat

Aponkye means goat. Goat means Aponkye. lol in the Ghanaian language. The aponkye, as it is popularly known in our homeland Ghana is skittish and playful, never afraid, tenacious and yet, incredibly a funny animal.

YOU never know where goat will take you. When I asked the smiley butcher at a store near my apartment whether he had any goat meat, he told me: “No. I got a leg of lamb, though — I could trim it nice and thin to make it look like goat.” I politely declined because the butcher man was just ignorant of my gastronomic desire.

The smelling head of the male ones are mostly my target when it comes to Ab3nkwan and Fufu. What do you think ?I am not here to wet your appetite let me quickly give you the recipe

Skills in Recipe

Wash and cut the meat into small pieces put into a deep pan add some
water chopped onions and ground chillies. Season with salt and cook
for 30-45minutes until meat is almost tender. Add the peppersoup seasoning
and the rest of the stock and cook for another 10-15minutes until meat
is soft and tender. Sprinkle in the crayfish chopped mint and utazi
leaves stir and allow to simmer for 5 minutes. Serve hot in traditional
earthenware soup pots or bowls.

We shall meet again. Bon la 'petit

swine flu

SWINE FLU
Hahahahaha ...My God ,I really love to hear these scientific revelations on flues (different Kinds)

ask me why.

I never said I don't believe them ,neither am i saying they don't exist..Swine flue is an infection of a host animal by anyone of several specific types of microscopic organism called swine influenza virus (SIV) it is any strain of influenza family viruses that is usually hosted in pigs.

But for me,I laugh because i am not afraid, tickled nor terrified about all these hullabaloo on their out-breaks.The revelation of these flu's actually excites me and rather increases my demand for them.

It will marvel you to know that a juicy God giving meat like Pork has been tagged SWINE FLU every where you go.This has inevitably reduced the demand and by economics affected the price and supply. (drastically running to the negative ...)

I have no problem in the fall in demand neither the falling market prices ..in fact it excites me more ..my only problem is the LACK OF SUPPLY IN THE MARKET

My demand is actually the opposite .It has risen more than my expectation.I pay less for more this time, there is no more unnecessary competition and sellers have adapted the habit of 'Ntoso"How lovely

I don't know much, but i only want to believe with no remorse that our native pigs can re- stand any flu because their already unhygienic skin can reject the virus infestation. This i believe because, the swelling of this flu is paramount in the developed world where hygiene is believed to be on the ascending peak.Eg (Midwestern America, south America,Canada,Europe ,China ,japan etc)

Hmm! I thanked God for bird flu,I am praising Him for Swine flu, I pray for Ice-cream flu.fish flu,Chocolate flu,Khebab flu,PK flu...Amen

Don't blame me .......Noko Fiooooooooooooo
